Usage
Insertion
Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Fold a PERIOD DISK along the flexible double rim and insert it carefully toward the cervix.
Then, push the front rim behind the pubic bone so the disc sits securely. Complicated folding techniques are not required. Thanks to its flexible shape, it adapts to your anatomy.
Wearing and Emptying
The PERIOD DISK S–M can be worn for up to 12 hours. Depending on the intensity of your period, earlier emptying may be necessary.
For many users, the auto-dumping function allows for partial emptying while using the toilet. Through the movement of the pelvic floor muscles, the rim may release slightly and release menstrual fluid. Whether and when this function occurs varies from person to person.
Alternatively, you can carefully release the front rim with your index finger, pull the disc out slightly, and empty it. Afterwards, check that the disc is once again seated correctly behind the pubic bone.
Removal
Grasp the menstrual disc by the front double rim and pull it out slowly and as horizontally as possible. Empty the fluid into the toilet, rinse the disc thoroughly with water, and reinsert it if necessary.
It may take a little practice, especially during the first use. Feel free to give yourself one or two menstrual cycles to get familiar with handling it.
Care & Cleaning
Rinse the used menstrual disc thoroughly with clean water between uses. For more intensive cleaning, the matching PERIOD DISK Tabs can be used to remove blood residue and odors.
After each period, the manufacturer recommends pouring boiling water over the disc and letting it sit for five minutes. Afterward, allow it to dry completely and store it hygienically, for example in a suitable zip bag.
Wash your hands thoroughly before every insertion and removal.
Advantage of the 3-pack: While you are using one menstrual disc, you can clean the other two, let them dry, or keep them as spares. This way, you always have an extra disc at hand.
