Insertion
Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Fold a PERIOD Menstrual Disc at the flexible double rim and insert it carefully toward the cervix.
Then, push the front rim behind the pubic bone so the disc sits securely. No complicated folding technique is required. Its flexible shape allows it to adapt to your anatomy.
Wearing and emptying
The PERIOD Menstrual Disc can be worn for up to 12 hours. Depending on the intensity of your period, earlier emptying may be necessary.
For many users, the auto-dumping function allows for partial emptying during visits to the toilet. By engaging the pelvic floor muscles, the rim may release slightly, allowing menstrual fluid to flow out. This function varies by individual and should not be relied upon as completely leak-proof.
Alternatively, you can carefully release the front rim with your index finger, pull the disc out slightly, and empty it.
Removal
Grasp the menstrual disc by the front double rim and pull it out slowly, keeping it as horizontal as possible. Empty the fluid into the toilet, rinse the disc thoroughly with water, and reinsert it if necessary.
It may take a little practice, especially during the first use. Feel free to give yourself one or two menstrual cycles to get familiar with how to handle it.
Care & Cleaning
Rinse the menstrual disc thoroughly with clear water between uses. For more intensive cleaning, you can use the appropriate PERIOD DISK Tabs to remove blood residue and odors.
After every period, the manufacturer recommends pouring boiling water over the disc and letting it stand for five minutes. Afterward, let it dry completely and store it hygienically, for example in a suitable zip bag.
Wash your hands thoroughly before every insertion and removal.
Advantage of the 2-pack: While you are using one menstrual disc, you can clean the second, let it dry, or store it as a spare. This way, you always have an additional disc on hand.
